Episode 105: A Shifted World

Rosters have expanded, which means it's time for a long-overdue update to the Official Baltimorons 2014 Oriole Nickname List.

Plus: the Jake Fox Franchise Report looks at Chris Davis's ongoing inability (or unwillingness) to hit against the shift, the opaque future of Jonathan Schoop, and Buck Showalter's lineup-juggling.

Episode 104: Dodo

As in "Macha" and "Ubal." We talk about their respective extinctions, the role of luck in the O's success over the last 3 seasons, and check in with Andy Livingston (aka @Elevator_Doors) about the positively repulsive state of the sporting union.

Episode 102: Moon Sundae

In which we gauge the bluster of the tradewinds (JORGE DE LA NO-SIR), marvel at the idiocy of the Yankees' Chase Headley acquisition, lament Tony Dungy's remarks on Michael Sam (and their subsequent distortion by the press), and, unfortunately, share some Orioles-themed slam poetry.

Episode 101: String Theory

It's a "Bourbon or Bust" edition of Baltimorons (you decide which!). Sam and Alan take your questions about the Orioles' chances at mid-season, upcoming free agent possibilities, and particle physics.

Episode 99: Blue Bayou

In which it is finally proven that Travis Ishikawa is a warlock.

PLUS: Alan's Portugal-induced heartbreak, an unexpected ray of cultural hope from a little-known bureau of the U.S. Government, an excerpt from WALT's broadcast of the rubber match in a three-game set between the Afton Oracles and the Modesto Moon Pirates, and possibly some Orioles talk (I honestly can't remember).

Episode 98: Submarines & Bamboo Shoots (w/ Ted Berg)

Ted Berg (USA Today) joins us to waggle the finger of caution in passing judgement on Manny Machado's recent antics. Alan pays tribute to one of America's finer tariffs of yesteryear, and the Taylor Teagarden Franchise Report examines the loss of Matt Wieters, the 6-man rotation, and the World Cup.

PLUS: the triumphant return of the Baltimorons Culture Corner (TM)!

Check out Ted's USA Today piece on Machado, and follow him on Twitter here.

Whirled Cups

Alan is very busy being excited about the World Cup, but not too busy to announce our next live broadcast! Join us this Friday, June 13th, as we do a live radio call of the O's game against Toronto. We're not sure we have enough creative home run calls prepared for the endless bombs that Edwin Encarnacion will hit, so if you have ideas for those, or anything else you'd like to hear during the show, please let us know via email (baltimoronspodcast@gmail.com) or on Twitter. See you Friday!
